"I think so. Close enough so that we don't need the Ninth or Eighth Chevrons." He bends down to start unlacing his right boot.

"But Eli's confirmed it. It would take years, even at FTL, to get back to Earth."

"If this flying scrapyard holds together that long." She peels off her own jacket. "I mean seriously. Who knows how old this thing is anyway."

"Exactly." He eases his foot out of his boot, trying not to make any sudden movements. His body still felt a bit numb due to the paralysis and the shit Telford put him through.

"And there's no way to turn it 'round. I had Eli confirm what Rush said about the auto-pilot."

"Okay, yeah. I get that we're on auto pilot until someone learns enough Ancient to drive this thing." Her boots come off next and she flops down on the bed and scoots over to make room for him. "C'mon, you need to get off that leg before you do any more damage to it."

Everett kicks his left boot off, before doing as he's told and flopping back into bed, groaning slightly.

"This is all a mess."

"Understatement much?" She sighs and stretches out next to him, propping her head up with one hand and laying the other on his chest. "But seriously. It's kinda, well, cool. I mean, this is the kinda stuff I grew up on. 'Strange new worlds, new civilizations' and all that. Just never thought it'd actually happen. Now I guess being what I am kinda makes sense."

"Glad it's helping you understand." Everett mumbles back, stifling a yawn. Now that he was actually lying down, he was getting a bit sleepy...

"Maybe you can stay and keep Rush company?"

She snorts at that. "Nah, I think the whole narcissistic vibe he has going would probably drive me nuts. Hell, it is driving me nuts."

Tucking her hair behind an ear, she leans over for a soft kiss.

Everett smiles lightly as she kisses him. "The problem is that I've gotta do something about him."

"Yeah, I know. He's a loose canon, and the more you try to tie him down, the more likely he is to go off." She sighs again and moves to curl up next to him. "It's almost like high school all over again. Jocks versus nerds. Go figure."

"I'm not that bad, am I?" Everett asks as he wraps an arm around Natalie.

"You at least have the crew's best interest in mind." She chuckles and nuzzles at his jaw. "I don't think I can say the same for Rush."

A scowl. "Rush has always been up his own ass." Everett growls. "Now even more so."

A hand moves over his chest. "Let's just forget about Rush for now, okay?"

Everett sighs, relaxing. "Alright. Just for now." He mumbles, moving to kiss Nat on the forehead.

She tilts her chin up for a longer kiss to the lips.

Everett smiles against the kiss, before sighing. "I'm sorry all this happened to you. Wasn't my intention."

"Hey, don't start with that." The rebuke is soft, but there nonetheless. "I knew the risks when I signed on. How was anyone supposed to know Icarus would be attacked? It's not your fault things got blown to hell."

"Yeah, but it's my fault you got fired from the FBI." Everett comments, but sighs. "At least we're safe, wherever we are."

"Yeah, we could've been stuck on Icarus," she replies with a teasing smirk then sighs. "Anyway, you need to stop kicking yourself over what happened. I guess the best thing to do now is to figure out what happens from here."

"Alright." Everett says, seeming to finally relax a bit. "This may sound a bit selfish, but I'm glad you're here."

That makes her chuckle. "Hey, if it gets you to stay in this bed for the next few hours, you can be as selfish as you want."

"I've already said that I'll stay put." Young says, grinning. "Believe me of you want. Suppose that's why you're staying with me?"

"Got it in one." She smirks and moves to settle back down against him.

Everett merely grumbles in response. "You're lucky you're not military staff." He comments. "I'm sure mollycoddling the CO is some sort of offense."
