"Alright." Everett says, seeming to finally relax a bit. "This may sound a bit selfish, but I'm glad you're here."

That makes her chuckle. "Hey, if it gets you to stay in this bed for the next few hours, you can be as selfish as you want."

"I've already said that I'll stay put." Young says, grinning. "Believe me of you want. Suppose that's why you're staying with me?"

"Got it in one." She smirks and moves to settle back down against him.

Everett merely grumbles in response. "You're lucky you're not military staff." He comments. "I'm sure mollycoddling the CO is some sort of offense."

"And it also means I don't have to take orders from you." She chuckles and lightly kisses his chin.

"Thought that was what attracted you to me." He says, grinning.

"Among other things." She teases.

"C'mon then. Stoke my ego. God knows I need it right now."

"Your ego or something else?" Her husky voice is warm and low as she lightly nibbles his neck.

"As long as I don't have to move about too much, you can inflate anything you want." He mumbles back, grinning. "Doctor's orders."

"Is that right...?" She murmurs softly and tugs at his ear with her teeth. "I think this is where I warn you to be careful of what you wish for."

Everett mmm's quietly. "Just don't hurt me more, okay? Wouldn't wanna call you a hypocrite." He jokes, smirking lightly.

"I think the whole point is to get your mind off the pain." Her voice is low as she leans in for another kiss. "Let yourself concentrate on something else for awhile..."

"By all means. T.J. can't spare the pain meds, and I don't need them." He returns the kiss. "Could use some...distracting, though."

"Y'know, you don't always have to be the tough guy around me." Her fingers are already moving to undo some of the buttons on his shirt.

"Force of habit." He admits. "But I think the pain killers would be best for people who are in more pain than me." And that was the truth. Yes, Lt. Johansen had offered him some painkillers, and Young had turned them down.

It's both admirable and annoying. She can understand why he turned down any meds, but it's still a thin line between appearances and his health. She sighs and thumbs open a few more buttons.

"Just let me know if I need to stop, okay...?"

There always was, and Young was stubborn enough to ignore that line completely.

He grins slightly. "Sure." He mumbles.

His reply isn't exactly convincing, but that doesn't mean she'll stop. She finishes with the rest of his shirt buttons before moving to push it off his shoulders.

The next problem is the black under-shirt Everett's wearing. He helps shrug off his shirt before relaxing back

Her fingers trail lightly over his chest, noting the different bumps and bruises he'd managed to pick up in the evac from Icarus.

"Are you sure you're okay...?"

"Of course." Everett says, not trying to pull the tough-guy act. He's been through worse.

"If you say so..."

Rather than argue with him, she leans down to gently press her lips to each bruise. So, the whole 'kiss it and make it better' thing might be a bit cliché, but that doesn't stop her.

Everett just relaxes under Nat's ministrations, sighing. The colonel seems to unwind for the first time in a while.
